Database Browser - Dec 2017 Release
We listened to you
and that resulted in awesome new features
First of all, thank you very much for all your appreciations, feedbacks, support queries and feature requests. That means a lot to us. Thanks.
Over the past few months, we worked hard to introduce new features and improved the stability & performance of the "Database Browser" add-on
New Features
Sorting feature
Now you can sort the records based on any combination of the fields. You can configure the sorting while configuring the query by choosing the field and type of sorting (ascending or descending). This ensures the query results are sorted and displayed in sorted order. This is very useful when you are working on a large dataset and you want to see the data sorted by a field (for example sort by amount maximum to minimum).
Editing feature
Some of the users wanted to edit the database records directly from Google sheet. After a lot of discussion and calibration, we took up this critical work and implemented this. Using this feature, Google sheet user can update and synchronise database records directly by updating rows in the Google sheet. This makes the user very powerful (and to be cautious also). This is a premium feature.
Run in Background feature
User can choose a query to be executed automatically from the background by setting 'automatic' flag on in the query configuration and enabling background execution.
Other Stuff
User can now execute the query from the query list itself without having to open the query.
Improved performance of the add-on on querying and presenting the results.
Lifted the max results limit of 1000. So user can load big dataset into Google sheet.
(This might go under review if we find issues).
Various other minor and cosmetic improvements.
Database Browser is listed in GSuite Marketplace
