Challenges and Solutions

Challenges faced

Fin (name changed), a Fillable Document user, contacted us with the following questions:

"I recently created a form and used copy and paste on field responses that request the same information. When I go to publish the form – all the field responses are populating the same responses for instance: I have a field response that requires "Yes/No" answer.

When I select 'Yes" every yes box on the form is checked off. I do not want this. Is there a setting I'm missing? Or do I need to make new fields for every question?"

Proposed Solution

For Fin's questions, This issue occurs because the fields share the same name, causing responses to sync across multiple questions.

To fix this, ensure each field has a unique name. Instead of manually recreating the fields, you can clone the existing field and rename it to maintain distinct responses while saving time.
