Shawn (name changed), a user of Fillable Document, reached out with the following inquiry:

Hi, I am trying to use the fillable form extension in a google doc and it keeps giving me and error message while loading the templates. Attached is a screen shot of what it is saying. What can I do to fix this problem?

Proposed Solution

For Shawn's question, The error you’re seeing is related to Google authorization permissions. Our add-on requires permission to make secure external requests, and these permissions must be approved by the Google account using the feature.

This usually happens when the feature is being used for the first time or if the authorization step was skipped earlier.

To resolve this, please follow the steps below:

Please revoke all permissions for Fillable Document from your Google account:
https://myaccount.google.com/permissions (under the Third-party apps with account access section).
Open the document and run the Fillable Document extension again.
When prompted, click “Select all” to grant the required access and complete the Google authorization flow.
Make sure you are logged in with the correct Google account while performing these steps.

Once the permissions are approved, Shawn is able to use Fillable Document perfectly.
